Dry fit flooring – Freefloor System: The dry self-laying floor
Introduction
The Freefloor system is an innovative patented system for dry laying ceramic tiles, completely free from each other. It’s available in the Silent and Magnetic versions, finely worked to guarantee the perfect interchangeability between each individual tile.
What is Freefloor?
Freefloor is an innovative system of dry laying ceramic tiles, edged and with a special Silent rubber bottom coating applied. It is installed directly onto any type of floor, raised or traditional, with the utmost simplicity and speed. In the case of irregular surfaces, it only requires a simple pre-treatment of cementitious levelling.
Key Features
Freefloor has:
- No adhesives or other chemical products: immediately ready and walkable from the moment of its installation.
- No joints between the tiles: maximum simplicity guaranteed to remove each single tile.
- No grouting and sealing between the tiles once installed.
Advantages
- Its particular composition and dimensional accuracy allow an easy installation with the lowest costs of installation.
- Its installation free of adhesives or other chemical products does not cause odours or raise dust, factors which may disturb people and the activities carried out in the area under renovation.
- Freefloor tiles are versatile and flexible and can be easily removed and recovered to be used elsewhere.
- Strong, stable, and long-lasting contact: thanks to the elevated suction effect that is generated on the laying surface, Freefloor guarantees perfect grip even under substantial dynamic radial loads.
Composition
Freefloor tiles consist of three elements:
- The internal core made of ceramic
- The PVC perimeter edge that is 0.8 to 1.2 mm thick, available in various colours
- The Silent or Magnetic underside covering
The thickness of the elements can vary from a minimum of 10 mm to a maximum of 14 mm, depending on the type of material that is used.
Versions
Silent: the low compact and silent support
Freefloor M can be used in all environments where a metal laying surface is present, such as encapsulated raised flooring both new and to be renovated. The self-laying tiles cling to the laying surface and increase their stability thanks to the strength of the magnet. The lower coating of the Freefloor M system is called Magnetic and consists of a special flexible plastoferrite magnet 0.5 mm thick composed of a partially rubbery mixture and partly ferritic.
Magnetic: the lower support that attracts
The lower covering of the Freefloor S system is called Silent because it is composed of a special EPDM rubber loaded with mineral fibres that give it a high specific weight (2,000 kg/m3) for a high noise reduction and grip effect at the bottom.
Applications
Freefloor can be installed directly onto any type of floor, raised or traditional.
Available Options
The Freefloor free-standing system is available in different sizes and ceramic finishes.
